As a trusted partner of government agencies since we launched our first smartphone app in December 2008, we have proven that smartphones can inspire, verify and enable travel behaviour change.

We are now working with government partners to demonstrate that dynamic RUC using smartphones can make RUC fair and transparent for road users, while providing a simpler revenue collection mechanism for policy-makers that better aligns with policy goals for reducing congestion and vehicle emissions.

ENFORCEMENT

With GoCarma Dynamic RUC, road users are incentivized to use a smartphone app to automatically pay charges, avail of credits, and to view a transparent transaction history.

By offering in-app pricing credits, policy-makers can incentivize HOV, off-peak, off-route, or clean-air vehicle travel.

For road users who choose not to use the app, roadside ALPR detection at fixed and roving locations enables revenue collection of higher charges through by-mail citations; or an agency may wish to provide an option for a single, flat, higher registration fee for those who prefer not to install a smartphone app.
